CAREER COACHING AGREEMENT

This service agreement is between Brenda Race (“Career Coach”), and ____________________________________ (“Client”). The career coaching sessions will begin on___________________________ and will consist of ___________________________ (name of individual session or package). Both parties agree to the following:

Coaching and Commitment

Coaching is an ongoing relationship between the Career Coach and the Client involving a process to empower the Client to maximize personal and professional potential. It is designed to facilitate the development of professional goals and strategies for achieving those goals.

Career coaching involves a solution-focused approach that is present-focused with future-forward thinking and concrete steps to meet the client’s goals. Career coaching is not consulting or counseling. Consulting involves advising clients on what to do and counseling involves focusing on past issues. Career coaching is NOT a substitute for any mental health service.

Career coaching may involve specific tasks or assignments for the Client such as, but not limited to, taking assessments, working on cover letters, resumes, references, networking, research, completing job applications and job search records, or interview preparation. The Career Coach offers a highly personalized approach tailored to each individual.

Coach-Client Relationship

The Career Coach agrees to maintain the ethics and standards of behavior established by the BC Career Development Association, the Canadian Standards and Guidelines for Career Development Practitioners, and the Canadian Career Development Practitioner Competencies.

The Client is solely responsible for creating and implementing his/her own physical, mental and emotional well-being, decisions, choices, actions and results arising out of or resulting from the coaching relationship and calls, videos, and interactions with the Career Coach. As such, the Client agrees that the Career Coach is not and will not be liable or responsible for any actions or inaction, or for any direct or indirect result of any services provided by the Career Coach.

The Client understands that in order to enhance the coaching relationship, the Client agrees to communicate honestly, be open to feedback and assistance, and to create the time and energy to participate fully.

Coaching Session Procedures

All coaching sessions are pre-arranged with the Career Coach and conducted by video (primarily Zoom, as well as Facetime, Teams, GoToMeeting) or phone. Appointments are to start on time and will be charged accordingly. Both parties commit to start and finish each session on time. If the Client is more than 10 minutes late for a coaching session, the Career Coach will assume the session is cancelled and the Client will forfeit the session. If scheduled by video, the Client agrees to sign in 10 minutes early to avoid any technical difficulties.

In between coaching sessions, the Client may e-mail or call the Career Coach. Calls made between the scheduled calls are based on availability; the parties agree to keep the calls to 15 minutes or less.

Appointments that are not cancelled a minimum of 24 hours ahead will incur full charges. The Career Coach reserves the right to bill a Client for a missed session. The Career Coach will attempt in good faith to reschedule the missed meeting with the Client.

Payment

The session or packages must be paid in advance before each session. Payments can be made via PayPal or Interac e-Transfer. The Career Coach will send you an invoice at which time you can choose your payment method.

Confidentiality

All information (documented or verbal) that the Client shares with the Career Coach is bound by privacy and confidentiality. The Career Coach agrees not to disclose any information pertaining to the Client without the Client’s written consent. The Coach will not disclose the Client’s name as a reference without the Client’s consent unless the Client posts a public review.

Confidential Information does not include information that is disclosed to the Coach and as a result the Coach reasonably believes there to be an imminent or likely risk of danger or harm to the Client or others; or is unlawful. The Client also acknowledges his or her continuing obligation to raise any confidentiality questions or concerns with the Coach in a timely manner.

Termination of Agreement

The client may cancel this agreement in writing at any time. The Client agrees to compensate the Coach for all coaching services rendered through and including the effective date of termination of the coaching relationship.

The Career Coach may also cancel the contract if the Client overstep(s) boundaries, shows misconduct, displays inappropriate behavior, and/or fails to show up for scheduled appointments with the Career Coach.

Limited Liability

As results are dependent on client actions and initiative, the Career Coach makes no guarantees with respect to the coaching services negotiated, agreed upon and rendered. In no event shall the Career Coach be liable to the Client for any indirect, consequential, or special damages. The Career Coach’s entire liability under this Agreement shall be limited to the amount actually paid by the Client to the Career Coach under this Agreement for all coaching services rendered through and including the termination date.




Our signatures on this agreement indicate a full understanding of the agreement with the information outlined above. If you do not agree to the terms and conditions, please do not sign it. This agreement becomes null and void if it is not signed by both parties within 48 hours of the scheduled appointment date and time, which also voids any special pricing, offers, and/or discounts.
